A Three Country Day

At noon yesterday Michelle says "Let's go to the Shinner PX in the Netherlands then go to Aachen Germany.".

So we did and that's how we saw three countries in one day!
Driving on the autobahn in the Netherlands. Schinner a United States Army garrison (USAG) was a small post and I didn't get any pictures. Mainly I didn't want to be suspected as a spy (I'm still thinking in a Cold War mentality... Some things just stay with you, you know?)
Walking down the streets of Aachen I see this beautiful open door...
Leading to this beautiful "secret" garden.
Michelle and I stopped to have coffee and lunch.
And dessert! Don't know what it's called but it was delicious!
Aachen is beautiful and a very large city. It has many churches and cathedrals. One of the most famous is the Aachen Cathedral. Charlemagne's mortal remains are enshrined there.
I mostly used my other camera until the battery died then I used my phones camera until it locked up!
Statue of Charlemagne in front of the Rathaus.
Starbucks across from the Rathaus where we had coffee and I deleted all my deleted pictures so I could have more bytes so I could use bytes...
After driving on the autobahn, missing the turn off to Aachen, being unable to find the parking garage where we parked the car, having a cab driver drive us a mile to our parking garage, and missing the on ramp to the autobahn back to Brussels, Michelle and I celebrated our victorious return home with Kinder eggs!
