A Not to Scale Day

Today was about seeing what essentially is very small in a much larger format and seeing what is essentially large in a much smaller format.

We went to Bruparck just outside of Brussels to see the Atomium.
Built in 1958 for the Worlds Fair - a representation of an elementary iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

Then we went to Mini-Europe!
Right in the gate this turtle mascot strong armed selfie-ed us!
We got over our "shell-shock"😉 and enjoyed a tour of a 1:25 scale Europe!

On the cab ride home we saw the Domaine de Laeken (the Belgium royal family's second residence).
It isn't open to the public 😞 but then again most residences aren't either 😀

  1. Working at a scanning company I have seen the small Europe place literally hundreds of times. Yours are in the top 20%, so you got that going for you!

  2. I'm glad atoms aren't that big! So now you can tell Chelsea they do exist because you have a picture of one!

Minerature Europe, what a cool thing to see! Although it would be hard not to play Godzilla.

  4. MINI EUROPE!?!?!?! HOW ADORABLE!!!! Why is the mascot a turtle? It should be something mini like a mouse. Or a shetland pony. Did you feel like a giant? You both look beautiful in that photograph, Brussels agrees with you!
