Delhaize, a Belgium Bashas'

Yesterday started like a typical day.
Until I delayed getting up in the morning by reading and listening to music. This was Dolittle's version of a snooze alarm. Smacking his furry tail in my face!
After he got me out of bed, he took a snooze on my bed. Pretty sure that was his agenda all along. Cats!
Yesterday afternoon we went grocery shopping. Bread is a big deal here. Even their "Circle K's" have fresh baked bread and bread slicing machines!
Who knew, a whole section of waffles in Belgium grocery stores! It's a real thing, not like a French toast section in French grocery stores or an American cheese section in American grocery stores.
The produce section looked thrown together to me, like vegetables are the red headed step children of food.
Even though they have shopping carts similar to the ones in the States, these ones are kinda fun to pull around the store. They don't make you look graceful when you're  putting your groceries into them and DONT push them past the registers cause red lights start flashing and alarms start beeping! I found that out the hard way. I thought I had started an international incident. They're really protective of those baskets!

Another note of interest, well I thought interesting at least, the cashiers get to sit in chairs! I would have taken a picture but my cashier didn't look too friendly after the basket debacle.

  2. Belgum waffles on shelves, seems awfully cliche!
They must really want to insure their awkward baskets stay put. Although it's cool seeing what other countries consider normal in the shopping world.

  3. HAHA look at all the waffles!! Reminds me of the Tortilla shelves at the stores here! How fun. Waffles are delicious. I wish we had a waffle area.
